Burnley Group Practice – Flu Clinics – IMPORTANT Information

 

 

  • If you have a new continuous cough, a fever or a change in your usual sense of smell or taste, do not come to the surgery and check the NHS website for what to do

     

  • Tell the nurse if:

     

    • you have had a previous severe reaction to the flu immunisation

    • you have any allergies – in particular to eggs or antibiotics or latex

    • You may be pregnant

    • You are taking any of the following medications – Steroid tablets, Warfarin, Immunosuppressants, chemotherapy, antibiotics

    • You are currently unwell

       

  • This appointment is for your flu vaccine only

     

  • Ensure that you wear your face covering / mask whilst in the building

     

  • Do not touch anything, and if possible remain standing for your vaccination

     

  • Please use the hand sanitiser, do not touch your phone after cleaning your hands

     

  • Take your coat off and ensure your arm to be injected is exposed (this doesn’t apply to children having the nasal vacc)

     

  • Stay 2 metres apart from other patients

     

  • After your vaccine you may get a mild fever, slight muscle aches or a sore arm for a day or two, have a look on the NHS website for more information
