Burnley Ambulance Station
Posted on 29 Jan 2019
Ambulance staff from Burnley and Nelson are collaborating and moving to a new build satellite station situated within the grounds of Burnley General Hospital from Thursday 24 January due to current facilities being outdated and no longer fit for purpose.
Seven Paramedic Emergency Service (PES) vehicles and five Patient Transport Service (PTS) vehicles from Burnley will be relocated to the new hospital site along with four PES two PTS vehicles from Nelson.
The new building will have additional space for comfort during rest breaks and a training room area to allow staff development and simulation.
The build has been financed by private development partner, Eric Wright Group, and leased back to NWAS eliminating the need of a major capital investment from the trust.
Lancashire County Council has purchased the current Burnley ambulance station and the Nelson site is now up for sale.
