Appointments

Following the current guidance issued, all appointments for the foreseeable future will be on the day triage appointments. 

NO PRE-BOOKED appointments will be made for any clinician. If you have a pre-booked appointment currently on the system, you will be contacted before your appointment to be triaged before you attend the surgery.

Any questions about pre-booked appointments should be made after 11.00 to avoid blocking the telephone lines. 

If you are ringing for an appointment because you have any of the symptoms listed below or suspect you may have Covid-19 then please follow the Department of Health advice and self-isolate for 7 days. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERY or other medical service.

The Symptoms are at least one of :- HIGH TEMPERATURE, NEW CONTINUOUS COUGH, LOSS OR CHANGE TO YOUR USUAL SENSE OF SMELL OR TASTE.

If during this time your symptoms worsen to the point you cannot manage them, you should then contact 111.

What to do if you have symptoms of cancer during the coronavirus outbreak?

You should still contact us if you notice a change that isn't normal for you or if you have any possible signs and symptoms of cancer.

Even if you're worried about what the symptom might be, or about getting coronavirus don't delay contacting us. Your worry is unlikely to go away if you don't make an appointment. The symptom might not be due to cancer. But if it is, the earlier it's picked up the higher the chance of successful treatment. You won't be wasting our time.

If you need a repeat prescription, please email your request to burnley.gp@nhs.net.  If you do not have access to an email, during the current crisis, we will accept telephone requests but please be aware our telephone lines are very busy and you are likely to have a wait for the call to be answered.

Isolation Notes/Sick Notes 

Please use the website link below if you have been told to stay at home because of Coronavirus and you need a note for your employer.

This is for people who have 1) used the 111 online Coronavirus Service or 2) Have been told by a healthcare professional that they have symptoms of Coronavirus or 3) live with someone who have symptoms of Coronavirus.

Advice for Parents During Coronavirus

Whilst coronavirus is infectious to children it is rarely serious. If your child is unwell it is likely to be a non-coronavirus illness, rather than coronavirus itself. 

Whilst it is extremely important to follow Government advice to stay at home during this period, it can be confusing to know what to do when your child is unwell or injured. Remember that NHS 111, GPs and hospitals are still providing the same safe care that they have always done. Here is some advice to help:
